Is FastClip free?
Yes. FastClip is free to download from the itch.io page.
How do I use FastClip in my DAW?
Load FastClip as a VST3 insert on the track you want to clip. Set the threshold to choose how much of the signal hits the clipper, then use the knee to soften the transition into clipping.
Unlike AutoChain, FastClip does not need a separate sidechain input.
Does FastClip work on Linux?
A linux version of FastClip is available. Releases are tested on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS with the KDE Plasma desktop environment.
Other distributions may work, but are not officially supported.
Does FastClip work in Logic Pro?
Logic Pro only supports the AU plugin format, and FastClip is currently only available as a VST3 plugin.
I am actively working on adding support for Logic Pro, and will update this FAQ when it is available.
